On the Move and spring
 For the first half of term we will be:
 
Looking at 2D/3D shapes around us.
Continue to celebrate our Centenary in different ways e.g. whole school photograph.
Talking about the seasons and changes we see in spring.
Maypole dancing on the school field to welcome spring.
Having a rainbow colour week and create a 'Rainbow Castle'.
Looking at the environment outside.
Looking at how we can enrich soil and planting our vegetable seeds.
Walking to and using our sports field in preparation for our Sports Day.
Learning about butterflies and keeping pupae to observe what happens.
Learning about the 'Hungry Caterpillar'.
Talking about Jack and his journey up the beanstalk.
Reception teachers to visit regularly to get to know children, read stories and join in activities. Visits to Reception classes continue until the end of the term.
Library week.  Parent/child run library for children to use.
Talking about life cycles.
Making a scarecrow.

Creating a travel agency to book our holidays.
Creating a garden centre and making plants and pots.
Going under the sea looking at colours and patterns.
Observing our grown sunflowers and drawing them.
Talking about Van Gogh and looking at his paintings of sunflowers.
Grandparent morning.
Picnic on the school field for 'Toddler Group' and the children with us/joining us in 2010/2011.
